An American tourist has given his frank assessment and "proper analysis" of Manchester after his first visit to the famed northern city. Known for its rich history, industrial heritage, and cultural significance, Manchester is a major UK city with an interesting, rich history.

The birthplace of the industrial revolution, Manchester has established itself as a cultural icon thanks to its thriving music scene, its legendary and world famous football clubs, its impact on science and much more. It's a popular city among tourists from the UK and beyond. The American man, who goes by the name Kjordy on YouTube, shares content about his travel experiences on social media. In a recent video, he filmed himself strolling through the streets of Manchester, giving his candid opinion on the iconic city.

He began: "So after being in Manchester properly for the past three days, I think I can have a proper analysis.

"One of the most underrated parts about Manchester, the fact that it's such a big city from the outside but anywhere you go, I swear to you, I was like a 10-minute walk from my hotel."

He then praised the locals for being "so freaking chill", and panned his camera to show a street artist strumming an electric guitar as proof.

Kjordy continued: "This feels like London if London people were actually kind of nice there. There, I said it. I'm sorry."

Manchester's architecture is varied, reflecting its history, but Kjordy said if he were to be "completely blunt and honest" it "looks like most cities" he's "been to in the UK".

He elaborated: "Most British cities, and I dare say even European cities, look very, very similar.

"I really wish I could lie to y'all [and tell] you there was a difference but there's really no difference. It is pretty though, it is really, really pretty."

Kjordy then moved on to the "important stuff" - the Mancunian accent.

He said: "Where does the Mancunian accent rank amongst them? I thought it was gonna be annoying but funny enough, it's actually not that strong. I found the Liverpool one way more jarring than the Manchester one."

Kjordy was blown away by the tram system and said it makes Manchester really "feel like a European city".

He then spotted the abundance of worker bee symbols seen throughout the city, but confessed he wasn't aware of their significance.

Wrapping up his thoughts, Kjordy added: "I think Manchester is a pretty sick city. I don't think there's nothing crazy about it but there's nothing bad about it. High-mid tier for British cities."

In the comments section, fellow YouTube users were eager to share their thoughts.

One person said: "I visited Manchester for the first time in 2023 (I'm from London) and I thought the architecture was super different and interesting.

"You don't get that dark red stone in London. Lots of grand old buildings and I loved the canals and railway viaducts everywhere. Very cool."

Another commented: "As a Londoner, Manchester is my favourite English city. Great for restaurants, pubs, bars and music but it's the people that make it so special. Mancunians are down to earth, friendly and often f***ing hilarious".

A third person added: "I love Manchester, it is so pretty, people are nice, the architecture is different with the red stone!"
